Charles Huyck, Pastor

Charles Huyck, Pastor

It took Charles many years of studying the Bible, meandering through the school of hard knocks, disappointment, brokenness, and shattered dreams to answer the call of God on his life. Charles felt the call of God to be a Pastor early on in his life but resisted.

Performance based religion, trying harder to be perfect, always falling short, caused Charles to give up and resign to a life of worldly living while working as a federal agent.

Gradually, The Lord would begin revealing Himself to Charles in a remarkable way, calling him home. At one point in his life, Charles would give away all his earthly possessions and resign to living in a one-bedroom apartment with only a mattress on the floor as God poured out grace upon grace in his life.

In 2021, Charles would become the Pastor of Grace Chapel, Heber City, where God would continue to grow Him is His knowledge and grace. It took Charles a lifetime to realize the grace of God and see Jesus on every page of the Bible. Charles now sees God’s grace as endless and has come to realize we will forever be searching the depths of God’s grace and love, as there is no end to it.

It is from this perspective Charles now rests in the finished work of Jesus Christ and invites you to do the same! Every week Charles preaches the grace of God, Jesus Christ, plus nothing. Nothing added and nothing taken away!

Charles sees religion as the biggest obstacle and danger to a person understanding God’s purpose for their life and their identity. Charles believes we must fight to stay free! Religion seeks to devour and destroy a person’s understanding of who God truly is, enslaving many to a life rules, traditions, demands, requirements, and perversions of the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

Charles’s wife Maria is from Colombia, South America, and ministers alongside him in the Church’s Spanish speaking outreach, children’s ministry, and foreign missions. She and Charles are excited about the Lord Jesus Christ, and they both encourage you to come hear the good news of what God has done, is doing, and will do, and to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.” Galatians 2:20-21
